Certificate of Fitness (CoF)

For passenger service, rental and heavy vehicles
How we help

A CoF is a regular inspection for passenger service, rental and heavy goods vehicles to ensure they meet the required NZ road safety standards.

This is required for vehicles such as taxis, shuttles, rental cars and motorcycles, heavy trucks, buses, licensed recovery service vehicles and rental and heavy campervans.

If your vehicle operates under a Transport Service Licence, please bring this with you.

If your vehicle fails a test, you have up to 28 days to have this re-inspected free of charge. Your vehicle may only be driven to a place of repair or inspection within this period.
