COVID-19 Announcement – Essential Service Vehicles & Service Workers

Vehicle Inspection New Zealand (VINZ) has spent the last few days working with the New Zealand

Transport Agency and other industry bodies to understand the “essential services” terminology and to create a plan for providing these services.

Vehicle Inspection New Zealand takes it social responsibility and the health, safety and wellbeing of our workers every seriously and it was important for us to find a way of providing these services, while honoring our requirements under Level 4 and keeping our staff safe.

The New Zealand Transport Agency have today approved a plan for us to deliver these services for the period from Thursday the 25th March through to end of the current level 4 situation. We will be posting information on the required process on our website today for forward bookings.

Please note: VINZ branches will not be open to the public, nor will we be open for walk-in services.

These services will be available only at our COFB stations and will require booking via our Manager network and are for essential service vehicles and vehicles belonging to essential service workers only.

In certain areas both VINZ and VTNZ will be working together to provide these services, subject to availability. This information will be updated on our website on a weekly basis.

We appreciate that sacrifices made now will allow us to more quickly resume normal services. We would like to thank our customers for their patience during this period.

WHAT IS REQUIRED

• To book a service contact the regional manager as listed below. (some sites remain closed)
• You will be asked for info such as Rego, Company Name, Location req, Service req, Date req.
• You will also asked to declare that you are an Essential services supplier Or that the vehicle belongs to an essential services worker
• You will be asked to declare if you have symptoms of the virus OR have been in contact with  someone who has symptoms In station the presenter will be required to sign the booking form to allow for traceability.
