To build upon our successful Palmerston North operation we now require a proactive, people centric Site Service Manager to take our newest site to the next level.  We know it’s ‘our people’ that make the difference!

We are focused upon delivering the best customer service and expanding our client base. One follows the other!

Reporting to the Regional Manager – Northern, you will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the Palmerston North site and their contractual and client commitments.

Responsibilities include maintaining/ improving customer service and ensuring staff are trained, confident, engaged and motivated to deliver on targets and business objectives. This is a “hands-on” role, so be ready to pull up your sleeves and keep the lanes busy and free flowing, using your smarts to innovate!

Health, safety and quality assurance are key, and we expect our new manager to promote best practice inspection, and business standards to showcase VINZ as a major national provider of vehicle testing.

Required skills

We anticipate that the successful applicant be able to provide

  • Proven and relevant staff management experience
  • Performance management experience, developing and inspiring individuals and teams to be the best
  • A trade certificate in automotive industry, with WOF, and/or COFB or ability to obtain appropriate NZTA Authorities. Preference given to Heavy Vehicle experience.
  • Sound computing and administrative ability
  • Excellent communication skills in English; written, verbal and ‘active listening’.
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal capability.
  • Process orientation – people and task, time and organisational.
  • A proactive business focus, able to forge beneficial stakeholder relationships.
  • A sense of humour, positive attitude and tons of common sense!
