Manager – Business Operations

The opportunity

Reporting to the CEO you will be responsible for the overall development, performance, and maintenance of eleven sites nationwide, with a team of two direct reports and a wider team of approx. 130+.

Your passion for people will allow you to help deliver success. From ensuring the sites are profitable to promoting individual performance to listening to customer feedback; it all comes down to people.

Day-to-day
Motivating. Leading and motivating your team in an environment that is fun will create an environment that is a great place to work. Acting as an inspirational leader you will encourage others towards success and utilise their unique skills so that the business continues to be a place to build their career.
Collaborating. From sharing new ideas and best practice to improve sales and productivity. Recruiting, standardisation of work practices and systems, and collaboration are key to ensuring the smooth running of the NZ branch network.
Management. Effectively manage workshops/branches to deliver top-line results and profitability. Maintain consistency and compliance of all operating procedures including health and safety, security, cash, stock integrity, and shop floor and warehouse presentation.
Developing. Engage your team at all levels to create an environment where staff development takes place, any training needs or developmental issues are identified, resolved, and ensure that PDPs are tailored to ensure retention within the business.

What you’ll bring
Leadership. You inspire those around you, leadingmotivating, and creating an environment where engagement is key. Encourage and drive your team towards success and champion operational changes to drive the business towards success.
Experience. You know the ins and outs of managing in a multi-site branch environment such as experience in improving business and operational processes, profit and loss accountability, stock management, and recruitment. Previous exposure to the Trade/Automotive Industry is desirable, but not a necessity.
Communication. As an exceptional communicator, you are comfortable adapting your style when speaking to everyone from Mechanics to Senior Management, and wholesale customers in order to create positive engagement, no matter the subject.
Drive and Passion. You will be fundamental in ensuring that the business is a great place to work. Your energy and passion for wanting to see individuals and the business succeed will be at the heart of what you do.
